After far too many Wordpress upgrades I've decided to move my site back to static content. I didn't use most of the features anyhow so it really wasn't worth it to be constantly applying updates to fix security vulnerabilities.

I wanted to connect to the serial port on the roamer module built in to my Rackable server. I was able to find the pin-out for the RJ-45 connector in the manual for the roamer. I made a cable using the following CAT-5 pin-out and a DB-9 adapter (74-0495-01) commonly used with Cisco devices.

The cable for the digitizer, the one that you don't want to damage, is at the top left of the phone. In the left part of the image you can see the cable and where it attaches to the screen. In the right side of the photo you can see how a small nick can render the digitizer useless. I managed to catch the cable and sever a few of the wires making the lower half of the screen unresponsive to any touches. Click on the image for the large version.
